Training

Smart Step has developed training programmes that will provide the tools and resources to vocational training centres and local community to raise awareness about entrepreneurship among the student community.

Training 1 | Ghana

The first Training of Trainers in Entrepreneurship was held in Ashaiman – Accra (Ghana) from May 5 to 9, 2025, hosted by the Ashaiman VET Centre.

The main goals of these trainings were to strengthen the capacity of trainers, provide practical tools to integrate entrepreneurship into vocational education and training (VET), and promote the Smart Step platform as a resource for continued learning.

In Ghana, Day 1 began with an introduction by SSC Ghana Ltd and UPV, covering entrepreneurial ecosystems and business modelling, followed by an online session from Giorgia Morossi (CEA-PME) on integrating Work-Based Learning into VET programs. Day 2 focused on value propositions, sustainability, and bridging education with industry, with sessions led by Israel Griol Barres (UPV) and Prof. Dr. Martin Wortmann (BVMW). Days 3 and 4 explored business validation, marketing, incubator creation, mentorship, and SME growth, with contributions from UPV, Mundus, Prof. Dr. Martin Wortmann, and Mr. Gerd Benzmüller. On Day 5, participants were introduced to the Smart Step Online Platform by APODISSI, followed by an internal consortium meeting and cultural activities in Accra.

Training 2 | Cameroon

The second Training of Trainers in Entrepreneurship was celebrated in Yaoundé (Cameroon) from June 9 to 13, 2025, hosted by the Centre Professionnel Don Bosco Mimboman.

The Yaoundé training gathered trainers, entrepreneurs, and experts to strengthen VET in entrepreneurship. Sessions covered building and validating business models, financial and marketing strategies, incubators and mentoring systems, start-up microfinance opportunities, and the use of the Smart Step platform. Facilitators from UPV, CEA-PME, and Mundus led interactive workshops, while local professionals provided context-specific insights. The training concluded with a graduation ceremony and field visits in Yaoundé.

The training provided invaluable opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and hands-on learning. Trainers gained practical tools to foster entrepreneurship in VET, participants strengthened networks, and the Smart Step platform was promoted as a central resource to ensure the long-term impact and sustainability of the project.
